Look for the Helpers
Our hearts go out to the innocent civilians who have been forced to leave their homes in Ukraine to escape violence. As we watch this humanitarian crisis unfold, we're equally humbled and inspired by our community's efforts to help. So many wonderful local charities are rising and redirecting their focus toward the aid of those affected in Ukraine.
Local chef/owner, Christian Hayes of The Garrison in Yarmouth traveled to Poland to join the World Central Kitchen's efforts to provide food for refugees at the Ukrainian border.
Partners for World Health in Portland collected and sent much-needed emergency medical equipment and supplies to Ukraine.
The International Committee of our Red Cross has substantially increased its efforts to provide medical supplies and food and water to Ukraine. Sotheby’s International Realty, alongside Realogy, opened a fundraising campaign for the Red Cross with 100% of contributions supporting the people of Ukraine, including civilians who have been displaced from their homes.
As we watch this humanitarian crisis unfold, we're grateful for the compassionate efforts of good people, both here in Maine and abroad.
